This definition reveals that there are various techniques that target different effects. What all variants have in common is that a professional massage can work wonders.

What types of massages are there?

Broadly categorized, there are two different approaches: wellness massage and therapeutic massage. Both approaches offer diverse subcategories. The most significant difference between the two approaches is the intensity of treatment.

In wellness massage, the primary focus is on relaxation and regeneration. It aims to promote blood circulation, mobilize tissues, and create a pleasant feeling for the patient, thereby enhancing regeneration and well-being. Pain or discomfort should not be present with this approach. Possible options include a relaxed form of classic massage, the use of various oils, hot stones, etc.

The therapeutic massage aims to optimally support the body in its function. For example, sports massage provides an option for competition-preparatory therapy. In the rehabilitative field, possible options include an intense classic massage or trigger point treatment. Similar to wellness massage, this approach also aims to support regeneration, but the stimulus is significantly more intense. Through sufficient treatment intensity, wound healing and metabolic processes in the body are triggered, enhancing your regeneration and wound healing. Due to the higher treatment intensity, the therapeutic effect is more efficient, but the intense stimulus may cause temporary increased sensitivity in the tissues, and the treatment itself may be uncomfortable at times.
